Paying our dues

Building flourishing economies and public services properly from the bottom up

Paying our dues is a movement of property-owners, starting here in Devon.  We have chosen to pay to our local Councils a monthly sum that is related to the value of our landholding.

The underlying principle is that we believe that any right to private property in land brings with it the duty to:

  • care for the land
  • pay dues to the community to compensate those who are excluded from the land.

For a description of our present thinking see: paying-our-dues-9-5-17-draft

We will be holding a meeting to discuss this further on Tuesday June 13th 19.30 – 21.30 at the room at the back of the Fire Station, Totnes.

If you are interested in coming to this meeting or discussing it further please send us a message on the contacts page.
